PSG Release Team Building 2015 - Part 2

Team Lunch and Post-birthday Treat

Finally... Natuloy din ang part two ng aming team building for Q4. The first part of our team building was a mystery game at Mystery Manila, Century Mall Makati. All of us were there (Pas, Jo, Ids, Harvey and yours truly) except for madam Jocelyn (proxy nya si Brian, hubby ni Ids). Kaya naman we made sure na sa kainan, which is the second part of our team building, kasama na si madam. Nga pala, we did not make it out of the mystery room within the alloted one-hour playing time, pero super fun sya at magandang team building activity nga. Too bad I don't have much photos that time, separate post sana kung sakali. Di bale, next time na maulit yun, I'll write about it.

We originally scheduled our team lunch Friday last week. We were choosing between Vikings sa SM Jazz and Dad's sa Glorietta to have our team lunch. Sa Dad's kasi, three days before/after, and on the celebrant's birthday free ang kanyang lunch/dinner as long as accompanied sya by one paying adult (well, turns out not totally free kasi yung kasama nyang paying adult has to pay P888 vs the regular buffet lunch rate na P688). And today's the last day na pasok kami sa criteria na yun (phew!).

Lahat kami sa team sooobrang excited kumain sa Dad's (except for our manager na si Pas dahil kumain na sya dun earlier this week hahaha). I can't remember the last time our team had a buffet lunch/dinner (na free! hahaha). We usually get invited to buffet lunch/dinner kapag may bisita from US.

We we're only given 15 minutes allowance sa pag dating sa restaurant to confirm our reservation (we booked for the 11 am to two pm lunch so we were expected to be there between 11 to 11:15 am). Pag dating namin dun, we saw madam's name written on the reservation board sa may entrance (wrong spelling pa nga, "Ms. Bryde, Joselyn" vs the correct spelling of her name "Pryde, Jocelyn" na ini-spell-out ko pa sa phone when I made the reservation. hehehe).

Here's what I got for my first plate:

First Plate - Sushi for Appetizer
I don't know all the names of the items in my plate but some of my favorites are: crunchy dilis (center, medyo maanghang), egg (yellow), crab sick (rectangular orange), and octopus nigiri. I also picked tasty-looking maki, and it was the first time I saw sa Saisaki area yung mung bean sprouts. Right-most side of the photo is a smuck of wasabi (not in the picture is the toyo-mansi for sawsawan [conyo?! hahaha]). Every bite of all the food in this plate was heaven!

Second Plate - Assorted Main Dishes

A few steps from the sushi area is the barbecue/grilling station. From there, I got quail egss on sticks, pork barbecue, beef-something with sesame seeds, chicken-something. I don't know the names (can't remember even if there were labels on each dish), basta kuha lang ng kuha ng mukhang masarap, hahaha. From the asian-cuisine area (I think), I got jap jae (korean noodles), some kind of fried rice, lechon macau, beef-something with baby potato on the side and gyoza.

When Jo and I got back to our table to dig in our second plates... on the first bite we both said, "ang sarap!" Hahaha. At that time, dumating na sina Ids, Harvey and madam Jocelyn. After finishing clean my second plate, I went straight to Kamayan's (Filipino food area ng Dad's). I had a hard time deciding on what to get next because all the food were sinfully good, lalo na yung mga malalaking tipak ng meat sa carving station. Undecided, I settled to get puto bumbong.

Kuya manning the Pinoy Desserts station, preparing my puto-bumbong

Two-piece puto-bumbong smothered in brown sugar, grated coconut, topped with butter (or was it margarine?!).

I wasn't able to take pictures of my fourth (palabok and another pinoy dish), fifth (assorted desserts) plates pati rin my last plate (another two sticks of quail eggs, a stick of pork barbecue, hot tofu soup [yung parang sa Tokyo-Tokyo], coffe-jelly shot [dessert]) and drinks (I ordered watermelon and green mango shakes. Sobrang tamis nung watermelon tapos sobrang asim naman nung green mango). Dahil siguro sa kabusugan, tinamad na mag-picture. Hahaha.

Of course, di nawala ang mga istorya at tawanan over lunch. We also got to see and hear yung super awesome restaurant performers who played and sung christmas songs and even current hit songs like Adele's Hello (san ka pa?!).

We left Dad's suuuper busog and happy. Syempre, di mawawala ang group pic.

PSG Release Team

Sabi nga nila, "The team that eats together, gets big together!" Hahaha.

I really hope someday I can bring my whole family here. Pamilya kasi kami ng matatakaw, may baon pang maraming kwento. I'm sure we'll have a great time.

In the meantime, stay tuned muna kayo sa susunod namin team foodie adventures. #PSGReleaseYummyAdventures

Chapter 28

An Ordinary Day

Since it's my birthday today, I decided, once again, to attempt to create and maintain a personal blog, a sojourn #DramaLang.

Why "Chapter 28"? Drama lang ulit... Duh, coz I'm 28 years old now (I feel so old hahaha).

Wala lang, normal na araw lang. I woke up at six in the morning, arrived in office at seven am, and did the morning daily bundles build (btw, I'm a Build and Release Engineer at NetSuite Philippines) and other mundane tasks. I had two (dalawa talaga, pero hindi naman sabay) two-piece chicken joy meals (with rice and peach mango pie) for my birthday lunch and dinner courtesy of my holiday-support work (bongga ng handa ko di ba?!).

While writing this post, napaisip ako ano nga ba kadalasang ginagawa ko nung mga nakaraang birthdays ko. Before, I usually write down a wish list. Ngayon, sobrang tinamaan ata ako ng katamaran. Gusto ko kasi chill lang.

Nga pala, last Saturday night, I deactivated my Facebook #DramaUlit. Gusto ko kasi personally i-greet ako ng aking family and friends through call or text. I know they mean no harm, and their intentions are good, pero para sa akin parang nawawalan na kasi ng saysay yung greetings sa Facebook. #SingsOfAging.

Speaking of greetings here's a list of persons (and interesting entities) who greeted me on my special ordinary day (in order listed below, as far as I remember):

  • Steve - Tumawag kagabi, buena mano.
  • Globe - received an automated text. salamat?
  • Uncle Amor and Jamie - called from Baguio.
  • Mama - Super Mega call while I was in the middle of my afternoon work siesta/nap. Hahaha
  • Google - Yup. Gulat ako kasi I usually log-in to my Gmail accounts sa office, tas when I opened a new tab sa chrome browser to google for something, yung Google Image sa search page eh picture ng birhtday cakes, and when I hovered my mouse pointer on it, it said Happy Birthday! (#sweet #NerdModeOn)
  • Ate Lane/Meggy - texted me through their new number
  • Bessie Suzie - tagged me in an IG post/greeting
  • Zalora - automated email.

****** commercial break ******

sobrang daming tumatakbo sa isip ko ngayon (well, ano pa bang bago #OverThinker). ang dami kong gustong i-sulat (techincally, i-type hehehe) pero as usual, I can't find the right words to capture my thoughts.

****** balik sa programa ******

Hmmm... ano nga bang purpose ng post/blog na 'to? Hahaha. Ma-i-lista nga:
  1. Outlet (hindi ng kuryente). Nung first year college nagsimula ang pagkahumaling ko sa pagsusulat sa aking mga imaginary readers by keeping a digital diary (digital kasi nung time na yun, tina-type ko yung entries ko sa word tapos sine-save ko sa isang folder sa laptop ko na may title na sojourn). Actually, buhay pa yung blog site na pinagpo-post-an ko ng mga entries ko sa lappy ko (pero wag na natin ungkatin, puro kadramahan about college life yun).
  2. Documentation. "one step  at a time".
  3. Anything/Everything in between items 1 and 2 #toinkz.
So anong pwedeng abangan? Well, NetSuite Philippines Christmas Party is this Saturday, at a-attend ako. I'm thinking of writing about it. After that, may travel ako this December *squeals* (hindi ko pa pwede i-reveal, baka maudlot. sana matuloy at maki-isa ang panahon! *cross fingers*), #feeling year-end special ko yun at post-birthday treat. Then January 2016, magbabakasyon sina mama dito sa pinas for a month, I'll try to ask my boss for one week vacation. Come February, local travel ulit (super duper thanks to my awesome boss for informing me about an unbelievably incredible seat sale), cheap chill solo travel lang ulit.

Ayun lang. Sana marami pang iba.

Antok na ako.

Next time ulit.

Good night ebelibadi!
